“what fascinates me most about this work is the hollowing process. It requires constant sharpening of my chisels, a firm steady hand, and a particularly keen ear to hear the pitch variations of the thin wood walls. When im nearing the end of the final shaping, the piece is spinning so rapidly that the consequences of one chisel slip is complete destruction.
